Border Town (2010) – Oil on wood panel – 48 X 24 inches – Illegal immigration is a major contemporary political issue. This original oil painting is an expression of my feelings on the subject. Pictured here is the jack boot of repression stomping the life out of an immigrant who has dared to cross the U.S. – Mexico border illegally. Dressed in Revolutionary War garb and holding a rifle, the figure doing the stomping is the embodiment of misguided patriotism. Like the real life patriots he represents, he shows absolutely no mercy.
